Invacare Comet Ultra Pro Battery
Hospital-Grade Power for Your Heavy-Duty Scooter. We Come to You.
The Invacare Comet Series is the gold standard in heavy-duty mobility. Whether you drive the long-range Comet Pro or the bariatric-reinforced Comet Ultra, you own a machine engineered for performance, safety, and stability.
However, these high-performance scooters are heavy. The Comet Ultra, specifically designed for users with higher weight requirements, places immense strain on its power plant. If your Comet is flashing the battery icon, slowing down on inclines, or if the "Service" wrench light has appeared on your LCD dashboard, your batteries are likely past their prime.
At MobileBattery, we specialize in the specific voltage requirements of Invacare’s advanced electronics. We bring the correct, medical-grade batteries directly to your home, ensuring your Comet continues to deliver the safety and freedom you rely on.
The Comet Power Spec: Why "Generic" Fails
Invacare scooters are designed in Europe and often feature sophisticated electronics that monitor battery resistance.
The Voltage Sensitivity: The Comet Pro and Ultra feature an "Intelligent Speed Reduction" system that slows the scooter in corners. If you install cheap, general-purpose batteries, the scooter’s computer often detects the voltage drop and forces the machine into "Limp Mode" prematurely to protect the motor.
The MobileBattery Standard: We install Group 24 (75Ah - 80Ah) batteries that match the strict resistance specifications of the Invacare S-Drive controller.
For Comet Ultra Owners: Because the Ultra is designed for higher weight capacities (up to 485 lbs), we strongly recommend our High-Output Dry Cell or Gel options to prevent stalling on hills.
Select Your Power Tier
We offer three professional-grade configurations for the Invacare Comet, designed to match your medical needs and driving habits.
Option A: The Standard (AGM)
"Factory Restoration." A reliable, cost-effective solution that returns your Comet Pro to its original specification. Ideal for users who drive primarily on flat, paved surfaces.
Tech: 75Ah Sealed AGM.
Range: Restores factory range (~35-40km).
Option B: The Preferred Upgrade (Discover® EV Dry Cell)
"The Bariatric Choice." Highly Recommended for Comet Ultra. Invacare scooters often ship with Gel/Dry batteries from the factory because they handle deep discharges better than standard AGM. The Discover® EV Dry Cell is the premium choice for heavy daily users.
Sustained Torque: Maintains high power even when the battery is low, preventing the scooter from slowing down in the middle of a trip.
Longevity: Outlasts standard batteries by up to 30% in heavy-use scenarios.
Option C: The Lithium Class (Discover® Blue)
"The Forever Battery." Transform your Comet. By upgrading to Discover Blue Lithium, you reduce the scooter’s weight by over 50 lbs.
Handling Upgrade: The reduced weight improves the Comet’s suspension response and braking distance.
Winter Charging: The only lithium battery with self-heating technology, safe for charging in unheated Canadian garages.
Bluetooth App: Check your exact remaining range on your phone—no more guessing with the dashboard bars.
Why Invacare Owners Trust MobileBattery
The Invacare Comet is a large, premium machine that is difficult to transport.
The Complexity of Service: Replacing batteries on a Comet requires removing the seat, the rear shroud, and navigating the specialized "splash guard" cover that protects the electronics. The wiring harness is specific to Invacare and can be easily damaged by untrained hands.
The Mobile Advantage:
We Come to You: Avoid the stress and cost ($150+) of booking a specialized wheelchair taxi to take your scooter to a shop.
Factory Protocol: Our technicians follow the Invacare service protocol, ensuring cables are routed correctly to prevent pinching.
Safety Inspection: We test your charger port and motor brushes during the visit to ensure your charging system is healthy.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is the difference between the Comet Pro and Comet Ultra batteries?
Both models typically use the Group 24 physical size. However, the Comet Ultra consumes energy faster because of its heavy-duty reinforced chassis and motor. Ultra owners should almost always choose Option B (Dry Cell) or Option C (Lithium) to ensure they get acceptable range.
My Comet dashboard shows a flashing battery code. What does it mean?
On the Invacare LCD, a flashing battery bar usually indicates "Deep Discharge" or "High Resistance." This means the batteries have internal damage and can no longer hold the load required to move the scooter safely. They need immediate replacement.
Can I mix Gel and AGM batteries in my Invacare Comet?
Never. The charging profile is different. Mixing chemistries or old/new batteries will ruin your expensive Invacare charger and the new batteries within weeks. We always replace both batteries as a matched pair.
