BMWs are engineered for performance, precision, and advanced electronics. That’s why replacing a battery in a BMW isn’t as simple as popping in a new one. From battery registration to smart power management systems, BMW vehicles require expert handling — and that’s exactly what MobileBattery delivers.
We provide mobile BMW battery replacement services in over 50 cities across Canada. Whether you're at home, work, or roadside, our certified technicians ensure your new battery is properly installed, coded (if needed), and backed by warranty.
Why BMW Battery Replacement Isn’t DIY-Friendly
BMW vehicles are equipped with:
Advanced electronics and IBS (Intelligent Battery Sensor)
Battery registration requirements for most models post-2002
AGM battery compatibility for many models with start/stop systems
Installing the wrong battery — or skipping the registration — can lead to:
Check engine lights
Malfunctioning systems (like Start/Stop, HVAC, or infotainment)
Shortened battery lifespan
MobileBattery handles all this for you. We stock OEM-grade AGM and flooded lead-acid batteries designed to meet BMW's exacting standards.

How to Replace the Battery on a BMW 3 Series (2019–2024 G20 Model)
Note: Due to battery registration and electronic systems, we recommend professional installation.
Here’s how the process works:
Step 1: Locate the Battery
In the G20 BMW 3 Series, the battery is located in the trunk, lift your trunk cover and you'll see the battery.
Step 2: Disconnect the Battery
Use a 10mm socket to disconnect the negative terminal first, followed by the positive.
Always wear gloves and safety glasses when handling car batteries.
Step 3: Remove the Battery
Remove the battery clamp and lift the old battery out carefully. This is typically a Group 48 AGM battery.
Step 4: Install the New Battery
Place the new battery and secure it with the hold-down bracket.
Reconnect the positive terminal first, then the negative.
Step 5: Register the Battery (Critical)
Use a BMW-compatible scan tool to register the new battery with the vehicle’s DME (Digital Motor Electronics).
This tells the car a new battery has been installed and resets the charging profile.
Step 6: Final System Check
Verify all systems (radio, power windows, navigation, etc.) are functioning properly.
MobileBattery takes care of all these steps — including registration — on your behalf.
Do All BMWs Require Battery Registration?
Most models from 2002 and newer, especially those with IBS and energy management systems, require battery registration. Skipping this step can cause:
Overcharging or undercharging
Malfunctioning electronics
Shorter battery life
We use professional diagnostic tools to register batteries for all supported BMW models during our mobile service.
